Materials and finishes
For outdoor work the finish decides service life more than any other variable, so it is worth confirming against the end use rather than defaulting to the cheapest option.

Copper-based timber preservatives attack plain and lightly zinc-plated steel. Anything going into pressure-treated lumber should be hot-dip galvanised or stainless as a minimum.
Heads, drives and sizing
Every screw carries three specifications at once: what it fastens into, the head shape, and the drive recess. Naming all three is what makes a quote come back correct first time.
- Heads — countersunk, bugle, trim, oval, wafer, pan, truss, button, flange, hex washer, hex, socket cap. Countersunk is available in both 82° imperial and 90° metric. See our guide to screw head types.
- Drives — Phillips, Pozidriv, square, Torx, hex socket, slotted and combination recesses. Drive preference is regional, so confirm what your destination market expects.
- Sizing — metric (diameter x length in mm) or imperial gauge (#4 to #14 with length in inches). We quote in whichever system your market uses; conversions and thread pitches are in our screw size chart.

What is your minimum order for screws?
It depends on the size and pack format, and we quote it per SKU rather than applying one figure across the range. Most importers combine several screw sizes, or screws with other fastener lines, to reach a workable order without holding excess stock of any single item. Tell us the intended mix and we will confirm what is viable.
Can you supply screws under our own brand?
Yes. Private label covers your artwork on boxes and blister cards, barcodes, multilingual labels and printed carton marks. Send the artwork and we will confirm what each pack format allows, including any size or bleed adjustments needed. Packaging development for a completely new range is handled through our OEM programme.
Can screws ship together with nails and bolts?
Yes, and for most importers that is the efficient route. Mixed-SKU consolidation lets you fill a container across several fastener families — screws, nails, bolts, nuts, washers, anchors — rather than over-ordering one line to reach a minimum. It also keeps the paperwork and the supplier relationship down to one set.
Do you supply both metric and imperial sizes?
Yes. We quote in millimetres or in gauge and inches depending on the destination market. Countersunk heads are available in both 82° imperial and 90° metric included angles, which is worth confirming on the order, because a head that does not match the countersink will never seat flush.
Can you match a screw we already buy from another supplier?
Send a physical sample or a drawing. We confirm material, dimensions, head shape, drive, point type and finish against it, then supply a sample for approval before bulk production starts. Matching an existing part is usually faster than specifying from scratch, because the sample answers most of the questions at once.
How long does production take?
Lead time depends on the sizes, finishes and pack formats in the order, and on whether tooling already exists for the part. We confirm it in writing with the quotation, alongside carton data and shipping weights, so it can be planned into your own delivery commitments rather than estimated.
What documents come with the order?
Each shipment is supplied with a packing list, commercial invoice, QC report and loading photographs. Where a market or an end customer requires specific material or performance documentation, tell us at quotation stage so it can be arranged during production — requesting it afterwards is slower and sometimes not possible once goods have shipped.
Which screw lines should a new hardware range start with?
Chipboard or construction screws, drywall screws in both coarse and fine thread, wood screws and deck screws cover most of the demand in a general hardware or DIY channel. Self-drilling screws follow for trade customers, and concrete screws once the basics turn over. Keeping one drive type across those lines reduces returns.
Choosing a screw supplier
Most screw programmes fail on detail rather than price: an included angle that does not match the countersink, a drive type nobody in that market owns bits for, a finish that corrodes in treated timber. Naming the application, head, drive, point and finish together is what prevents it. Send those five and the quotation comes back matched to the job.
