FAQs
Sourcing questions, samples, MOQ, packing & shipping.
What are box nails mainly used for?
Box nails are commonly used for light wood assemblies, wooden boxes, crates, softwood frames, pallets, trim boards and general non-structural fastening where a thinner shank helps reduce wood splitting.
What is the difference between box nails and common nails?
Box nails are similar in shape to common nails, but they usually have a thinner shank. This makes them easier to drive into thinner wood and less likely to split the material, while common nails provide higher holding strength for heavier construction work.
Can box nails be used for structural framing?
Box nails are not the first choice for structural framing or load-bearing construction because the thinner shank provides less holding power than common nails. For structural timber work, common nails, framing nails or project-specified fasteners are usually more suitable.
Which finish should I choose for box nails?
Bright or polished box nails are usually selected for indoor dry applications. Galvanized or coated finishes are better for humid storage, outdoor use, packaging exposed to moisture, or markets that require improved corrosion resistance.
What information do you need to quote box nails?
Please send the nail length, diameter or gauge, surface finish, quantity, packing style, carton mark requirements and destination port. Photos, samples or existing package labels help us match your current specification faster.
Can box nails be supplied in retail packaging?
Yes. Box nails can be packed in bulk cartons, small boxes, plastic jars, blister packs or private-label retail packaging. We can also support mixed fastener orders for distributors and hardware retailers.
