Cement Board Screws fasten compatible cement or fiber-cement tile backer boards to wood framing or specified steel supports. A low-profile countersinking or wafer-type head, depending on the selected design, provides bearing against the board and can include underside ribs to assist seating. Select a screw approved by the board manufacturer for the intended wall or floor assembly. This product family is for board-to-framing attachment, not direct anchoring into concrete or masonry.

Wood-framing variants typically use coarse or hi-lo threads with a sharp or cutting point. Steel-framing variants use a compatible thread and self-drilling point selected for the actual steel thickness. These are separate specifications, not a universal screw for both substrates. Specify a corrosion-resistant coating suitable for alkaline cement board and the intended exposure. Confirm the actual coating performance and any required test documents; ordinary black phosphate drywall screws are not substitutes for specified cement-board fasteners.

Install with a Drill/Driver and the exact matching driver bit. Use an Impact Driver only where permitted by the fastener and board instructions, with controlled driving depth. Seat the head flush as specified without crushing the board or overdriving. Follow the board manufacturer or tested assembly requirements for screw spacing, edge distances, board thickness, fastener length and support engagement. Screws alone do not waterproof the assembly; joint treatment and waterproofing must follow the selected system.
