Product Information

Drywall Screws attach interior gypsum board to wood studs or compatible light-gauge steel framing. The bugle head is shaped to seat below the board surface for joint-compound finishing while retaining the paper facing when correctly driven. This range uses a Phillips recess and black phosphate finish. Select length and diameter for the board thickness, number of layers and required engagement in the framing.

Coarse-thread, sharp-point screws are normally selected for gypsum board to wood framing. Fine-thread screws are selected for compatible light-gauge steel studs; choose a sharp point or a self-drilling point according to the actual steel thickness and screw specification. These are different variants, not one screw suitable for every substrate. Black phosphate drywall screws are intended for dry interior service, and the finish is not an exterior corrosion-protection specification.

Use a Drywall Screw Gun or a Drill/Driver fitted with a suitable depth-stop attachment and the exact matching Phillips bit. Adjust the stop so the head sits slightly below the surface without tearing the paper or crushing the gypsum, and check representative fixings as work proceeds. Follow the board or tested assembly specification for spacing, edge distances, screw length and penetration, especially for fire-rated walls and ceilings. Confirm loose or collated supply against the tool; drywall screws are not substitutes for structural timber screws, cement-board screws or masonry anchors.

FAQs

Sourcing questions, samples, MOQ, packing & shipping.

Which drywall screws should I use for wood studs?
Coarse-thread sharp-point drywall screws are normally used for wood framing. Select length and diameter for the board layers and the penetration required by the board or assembly specification.
Which type is suitable for light-gauge steel studs?
Use a compatible fine-thread variant. Sharp-point and self-drilling screws have different steel-thickness limits, so confirm the framing thickness and the exact screw specification before selection.
What does the bugle head do?
It is shaped for seating in gypsum board beneath the finished surface. Correct depth control is essential: the head should sit slightly below the board face without breaking the paper facing or crushing the core.
Can black phosphate drywall screws be used outdoors?
This range is intended for dry interior drywall fixing. Black phosphate alone is not an exterior corrosion-protection specification. Use the fastener required for an exterior or moisture-exposed assembly.
Which tool and supply format should I choose?
Use a Drywall Screw Gun or a Drill/Driver with a suitable depth stop and matching Phillips bit. Loose and collated formats must match the tool or auto-feed attachment. Follow the assembly specification for spacing and depth.
What information is needed for a wholesale quote?
Send framing material and steel thickness if applicable, board layers, diameter, length, thread and point type, drive size, loose or collated format, quantity and packaging requirements. Identify any required standards or test documents. Availability, MOQ and lead time are confirmed at quotation.
