Product Information

Pin Nails, also called Micro Pin Nails, are very fine 23 gauge pins used for precision woodworking, temporary positioning of thin trim, model making and near-invisible fastening. Their almost headless design leaves an extremely small hole, making them useful where a visible nail mark is not wanted.

Compared with 18 ga brad nails, 23 ga pin nails are thinner and less visible, but they also provide lighter holding power. They are best used for delicate parts, alignment, small moldings, thin decorative strips and craft work, often together with adhesive when long-term holding strength is required.

Pin Nails are not structural fasteners and should not be used for framing, load-bearing wood joints, concrete or metal fastening. A 23 ga Pin Nailer is the recommended installation tool for clean and controlled driving.

FAQs

Sourcing questions, samples, MOQ, packing & shipping.

What are pin nails used for?
Pin nails are used for fine woodworking, temporary positioning of thin decorative strips, model making and near-invisible fastening where visible nail holes should be avoided.
What is the difference between pin nails and brad nails?
Pin nails are typically 23 ga and almost headless, leaving a smaller mark than 18 ga brad nails. Brad nails provide more holding power, while pin nails are better for delicate positioning and near-invisible fastening.
Do pin nails have strong holding power?
Pin nails have light holding power. For long-term fastening on delicate parts, they are often used together with adhesive rather than as the only mechanical fastener.
Can pin nails be used for structural woodwork?
No. Pin nails are light-duty micro fasteners. They should not be used for framing, load-bearing wood joints, concrete fastening or metal structure fastening.
What tool should be used with pin nails?
A 23 ga Pin Nailer is recommended. Normal hand driving is not recommended because the pins are very fine and easy to bend.
What information do you need for a quotation?
Please send length, finish, strip format or pin nailer compatibility, packing style, quantity and any reference photo or sample requirement.
