Product Information

Framing Nails are heavy-duty carbon steel nails used for timber framing, house framing, rafters, floor joists and other load-bearing wood structure work. They are supplied for pneumatic or gas cordless framing nailers, with smooth shank, ring shank and screw shank options to match different holding-power requirements.

Smooth Shank Framing Nails drive quickly and are suitable for general timber framing where fast installation is the priority. Ring Shank Framing Nails have annular rings that grip wood fibers for better resistance to withdrawal and loosening. Screw Shank Framing Nails twist into the timber during driving, giving stronger holding power for demanding wood connections and applications exposed to vibration or movement.

These nails are for structural wood and timber fastening. They are not concrete nails and should not be specified as metal-structure fasteners. For volume construction work, a Framing Nailer is the recommended tool; a Claw Hammer can be used for hand installation or repair work, but it is not efficient for large framing jobs.

FAQs

Sourcing questions, samples, MOQ, packing & shipping.

What are framing nails used for?
Framing nails are used for timber framing, house framing, rafters, floor joists and heavy-duty wood structure fastening. They are not intended for concrete or metal structural fastening.
What is the difference between smooth, ring and screw shank framing nails?
Smooth shank nails drive quickly for general framing. Ring shank nails use annular rings to grip wood fibers and improve pull-out resistance. Screw shank nails twist during driving and provide stronger holding power in demanding timber connections.
Which shank type has better holding power?
Ring shank and screw shank framing nails usually provide better anti-loosening performance and holding power than smooth shank nails, especially where timber movement or vibration is a concern.
What tool should be used for framing nails?
A pneumatic or gas cordless Framing Nailer is recommended for normal construction volume. A Claw Hammer can be used for small manual jobs or repairs, but it is not efficient for large framing work.
Can you supply nails for my framing nailer specification?
Yes. Please send the nail length, diameter, shank type, head style, collation angle or coil/strip requirement, finish, packing and quantity so we can match the correct nailer-compatible specification.
Do you support private label and mixed fastener orders?
Yes. We can review private-label cartons, OEM marks, bulk packing and mixed orders with other nails, screws, hand tools and hardware items.
