Product Information

Wood Screws are pointed, coarse-thread fasteners for indoor furniture assembly, general timber joints and fixing compatible hinges or fittings directly into wood. The threads engage the timber to hold the fitting or joined component in place. Select the screw diameter, length and head profile for the wood thickness and hardware hole, allowing sufficient engagement without the point breaking through the opposite face.

Pre-drill a suitable pilot hole for conventional wood screws, especially in hardwood, close to edges or when using larger diameters. Pilot diameter and depth depend on the actual screw geometry and timber; an undersized hole can cause splitting or excessive driving torque, while an oversized hole reduces grip. Use a clearance hole in the upper member where the joint design requires it, and countersink only when using a matching countersunk head. These screws are not advertised as no-pre-drill structural screws.

Drive with a Drill/Driver and the correct bit, or a matching manual screwdriver for controlled small jobs. Start with a low clutch setting and finish without stripping the recess or overdriving the head. For handles, use wood screws only when the fitting is designed to screw directly into timber; handles with tapped posts require the specified machine screws instead. Ordinary interior wood screws are not substitutes for rated structural fasteners, exterior decking screws or direct masonry fixings.

Features & Benefits

  • COARSE WOOD THREAD - Engages timber for general interior furniture and joinery work.
  • POINTED TIP - Helps locate the screw in a prepared pilot hole; not a drill-point fastener.
  • HARDWARE MATCHING - Select the head and diameter to suit the hinge or fitting hole.
  • PILOT-HOLE INSTALLATION - Prepare holes to suit screw geometry, timber and edge distance.
  • CONTROLLED DRIVING - Compatible bit and controlled torque help avoid recess damage and stripped wood.
  • WHOLESALE SOURCING - Confirm dimensions, finish, sample and packing requirements before ordering.

FAQs

Sourcing questions, samples, MOQ, packing & shipping.

What are these wood screws used for?
They are for interior furniture assembly, general timber joints and compatible hinges or fittings that fasten directly into wood. Choose dimensions for the actual joint and wood thickness.
Do wood screws need a pilot hole?
Pre-drill for these conventional wood screws. The correct diameter depends on screw geometry and wood hardness; do not apply one pilot-hole size to every screw. Pilot holes are especially important near edges and in hardwood.
Can I use wood screws for cabinet handles?
Only when the handle is designed for screws that engage the wood directly. Handles with internally threaded posts need matching machine screws, not pointed wood screws.
Which tool and head style should I choose?
Use a Drill/Driver or manual screwdriver with the exact matching bit. Select the head to match the hardware seating surface; a countersunk head needs a compatible recess. Control torque to avoid damage.
Can these replace structural or outdoor screws?
Do not assume interchangeability. Load-bearing connections need specified rated fasteners, while outdoor or treated timber requires suitable materials and corrosion protection. This page covers general interior wood screws.
What details are needed for a wholesale quote?
Provide diameter, length, head, drive, thread length, material, coating, sample or drawing, quantity and packing. MOQ, availability and lead time are confirmed for the requested specification.
