Product Information

Siding Nails are exterior fastening nails used to install compatible vinyl, wood and fiber cement siding products over approved wall assemblies. They are commonly supplied with corrosion-resistant galvanized finishes and in smooth shank or ring shank versions to match different cladding materials, substrates and holding requirements.

Smooth Shank Siding Nails drive easily and are suitable where the siding specification allows normal withdrawal resistance. Ring Shank Siding Nails use annular rings to grip wood fibers more strongly and provide better resistance to withdrawal and loosening, making them a common choice for wood siding and other exterior cladding systems that require additional holding power.

Coil-collated nails can be installed with a compatible Siding Nailer for efficient volume work, while loose nails can be driven with a Claw Hammer. Vinyl siding must be fastened according to the siding manufacturer's instructions, normally without clamping the panel tightly so it can expand and contract. Nail material, coating, head size, length and driving depth must match the siding product, substrate, exposure and local code.

FAQs

Sourcing questions, samples, MOQ, packing & shipping.

What are siding nails used for?
Siding nails are used to install compatible vinyl, wood and fiber cement siding over approved wall substrates. The siding manufacturer's instructions determine the correct fastener specification.
What is the difference between smooth and ring shank siding nails?
Smooth shank nails drive easily for standard applications. Ring shank nails grip wood fibers more strongly and provide improved withdrawal resistance where additional holding power is required.
Which finish should be used for exterior siding?
The correct material and coating depend on the siding, substrate, exposure and local code. Galvanized steel is common, while stainless steel may be specified for severe exposure, treated timber or material compatibility.
Can siding nails be used for vinyl siding?
Yes, if the nail dimensions and finish meet the vinyl siding manufacturer's requirements. Vinyl panels are normally fastened without clamping them tightly so they retain room for thermal expansion and contraction.
Can siding nails be driven by hand?
Yes. Loose siding nails can be driven with a Claw Hammer for repairs and smaller jobs. A compatible pneumatic Siding Nailer is more efficient for coil-collated nails and volume installation.
What information is needed for a quotation?
Please provide siding material, nail length and diameter, head diameter, shank type, finish, coil and nailer compatibility, packing style, order quantity and destination market.
