Product Information
Roofing Nails, also called Asphalt Shingle Nails, are wide flat-head fasteners used to secure asphalt shingles, roofing felt and underlayment to timber roof decks. The large round head spreads the clamping force over the roofing material and helps hold thin sheet products without pulling through during correct installation.
Common material and finish options include galvanized carbon steel for corrosion resistance and aluminum for compatible roofing systems or buyer specifications. Smooth shank versions are widely used for standard roofing work, while ring shank options provide improved withdrawal resistance where the roof specification requires additional holding power. Material, coating and nail length must match the roofing system, substrate, local code and exposure conditions.
Collated coil roofing nails are installed with a pneumatic Roofing Nailer for fast, repetitive shingle work. Loose roofing nails can also be driven by hand with a Claw Hammer, and the large head makes controlled manual placement practical for repairs and smaller jobs. Roofing nails are not a substitute for framing nails or engineered structural connectors.
