Product Information

Panel Pins, also called Moulding Pins, are small flat-head nails commonly sold through UK and Australian DIY and hardware channels. They are intended for fixing thin timber mouldings, decorative panels, light trim and small woodworking parts where a compact, controlled hand-driven fastener is needed.

Compared with fine brad nails, panel pins are generally a little thicker and have a small flat head that provides a more positive mechanical hold. The head remains small enough to be set just below the timber surface with a Nail Punch, allowing the recess to be filled and finished when a less visible fixing is preferred.

Use a Claw Hammer to drive the pin close to the surface, then finish with a Nail Punch to reduce the risk of hammer marks on the moulding or panel. Panel pins are for light trim and decorative woodworking; they are not suitable for structural framing, load-bearing joints, concrete or metal fastening.

FAQs

Sourcing questions, samples, MOQ, packing & shipping.

What are panel pins used for?
Panel pins are used to fix thin timber mouldings, decorative panels, light trim and small woodworking parts in non-structural applications.
What is the difference between panel pins and brad nails?
Panel pins are generally a little thicker than fine brads and have a small flat head for more positive holding. They are commonly driven by hand, while many brad nails are collated for a Brad Nailer.
Can panel pin heads be hidden?
Yes. The small flat head can be set slightly below the timber surface with a Nail Punch, then covered with filler and finished as required.
What tools should be used with panel pins?
Use a Claw Hammer to drive the pin close to the surface and a Nail Punch for the final setting, especially on visible mouldings and panels.
Are panel pins suitable for structural work?
No. They are light-duty decorative woodworking fasteners and should not be used for structural framing, load-bearing joints, concrete or metal fastening.
What information is needed for a quotation?
Please provide pin diameter, length, finish, packing style, order quantity, destination market and any reference photo or sample requirement.
